Photoshop World starts today in Vegas, and I am stuck here at the grind. I would really love to attend one of these one day. I am sure Scott Kelby will be blogging daily from Mandalay Bay (www.scottkelby.com/). If you have never heard about it, it is a 3 day conference for us creative folks to learn more about what we love. Now that Adobe Lightroom has went from the category of ‘what’s that’ to the industry standard for photographers, they are setting aside a lot more time for Lightroom. When you get a chance, check out Scott’s blog for more info on Photoshop World.

Well, it is not here in the south! It is REALLLLLLLY cold here in Atlanta, like in the teens cold. I am not going to get any sympathy from the folks up north, but this is the south.  It is not supposed to be this cold!

So I am staying inside this weekend, and going to do a little blog work, Facebook stuff, and web site junk.  I’m sorry, but I am a beach person, and cold weather really freaks me out.  I don’t like it, don’t want it, and folks up north can have it!!! Anyway…….

OK, off my soap box, and on to some good stuff. For those of you out there into Photowalks, here is a nifty little app for those of you who have the iPhone/iTouch, brought to you courtesy of Terry Reinert.

With a couple weeks of 2009 under our belts, I thought we would go back and visit the top 20 photography web sites of 2008.  What is cool is that I have several of these linked here on the blog!

Citizen journalism at its best.  An iPhone picture of the plane crash in the Hudson River makes the headlines.

Here are 3 quick tips to better your photography by Damien Franco.

Here is a great article that all photographers should read. It is by Merlan Mann at 43folders.com.  Really good read.

That is going to do it for tonight.  I am going to try and stay warm, and I will hit the links tomorrow and see what other interesting stories I can find.

emptyI can only dream of having all this camera goodness.  One day though….one day.  I think I will contact Obama and ask for some of that buy out money.

All this joy is owned by Alan Hess, and by seeing his work, he knows how to use it. Very impressive work.  I heard him mentioned by Scott Kelby and the Photoshop Guys in their podcast. If your name is mentioned by these guys, you have made it to the top.  Alan is a commercial photographer in San Diego, and also an author.  If you have a minute, click on the link and visit his site.

Another site of interest is Digital Protalk.  This is the site of David Ziser, an internationally renowned portrait and wedding photographer.  I do not do portrait shots, or let me say I have never done them, but I am willing to give it a shot.  His site is full of tips, gear talk, and pics.

Dude, is it really 2:30 am?  Note to self, no more caffeine after 6:00 pm!!! That wraps up my tour of the web, I am going to hit the hay.
